Preparation of the timber for production
The processing of the timber is done on a production line with modern machinery. The timber is dried to 12% to make it more resistant to insect and fungus attacks as well as to prevent it from splitting.
Resting of timber, tailoring-length, adjusting and planing
To equalize the tension in the wood built up during the drying process, the timbers have to be put aside to rest for 48-72 hours. To prevent any distortion of the wooden components and to achieve a stronger structure, the wooden parts are made of several layers pressed together. Adjustments to faults in the wood and of the individual layers are done by automatic sawing machines. Those layers that are too short have to be extended. All four sides of the wooden pieces are planed in order to achieve perfect joints for glueing.
The next step in the process is the compression of the wooden layers which takes place in three stages: glue application, fine positioning of the layers on one another and pressing.
The wood is moulded into its final shape on modern tapping and profiling production lines.
Drilling - repair
The holes in the wood are drilled by automatic drilling and milling machines. And repairing any minor defects during manufacturing, means otherwise wasted materials can be saved.
Impregnating, painting, varnishing
Water-based impregnation makes the wooden parts resistant to fungi and insects. Varnishing the wooden components will also help retain the natural-wood look.
Aluminium production - profiling, length settings, punching
The covering components of our roof windows are made of aluminium sheets which come in the form of an aluminium coil. The profiled parts are then cut to size according to the required window measurements. Drill holes and connecting points are created for attaching the aluminium.
Pane (glass) production
The glass is cut to size from large glazing panels, then it is washed and toughened. The required spacers are cut to size and then folded. The glass panes are assembled and filled with insulating gas.
